Northampton…
- Although Northampton and connections with the shoe industry go back to the 1400s – as you will (hopefully) find out – and as Northamptonians know – we have a great deal more to us and our heritage than shoes!
- Dr Martens (Made in England) – at the Wollaston – Griggs & Co Ltd factory, were the origin of Dr Martens. They were also made in Daventry shoe factory (my Dad worked as a boot and shoe operative and cobbler all his life)
- Northampton is also home to Church’s shoes (St James) [see links]
